At the end of Captain America: Civil War, Steve Rogers leaves his shield behind after Tony Stark admonishes Cap, saying Stark’s father made the shield and that Steve doesn’t deserve it. Regardless of why Steve dropped the red, white, blue, and vibranium shield–leaving something of Tony’s dad with him, no longer willing to serve his country’s government, whatever–the decision meant that the once star-spangled Avenger would need a new armament of some sort.

During the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War, King T’Challa–the Black Panther–tells someone off-screen to “get [Steve] a shield.” Well, in tonight’s teaser spot for Infinity War during the Super Bowl, we got a glimpse of what that shield looks like.

Pretty nifty and multi-purposeful. We also get a glimpse of a less cartoon-ish looking Thanos, Spider-Man in space, and Cap, Black Widow, and Vision walking down a corridor. Not bad for a 30-second spot.

Avengers: Infinity War, directed by the Russo brothers and starring more actors than you can shake an Infinity Gauntlet at, drops in theaters May 4th, 2018.
