In Asgardians of the Galaxy, writer Cullen Bunn and the rest of the creative team are following Angela–sister to Thor and Loki–as she leads a rag-tag team of Asgardian and Asgardian-adjacent heroes and hero-adjacent folks to stave off a threat to all of reality. In the process, Bunn has introduced the Naglfar Armada, made up of the soulless husks of long-dead Asgardian gods who were cast aside during cycle after cycle of Ragnarok. While the spirits of Loki, Odin, Thor, and their allies and antagonists have moved on to new bodies with each new universal rebirth, the bodies they left behind after death still live in a horrific non-living state.
Bunn has managed in just three issues to bring menace to these soulless Asgardian bodies and make readers feel sympathy and pity for those poor purposeless creatures. In this week’s Asgardians of the Galaxy #3, Angela will have to face off with one of them–a Thor of horrific proportions! Get a tease of what you can expect in our exclusive preview! (And see the villanous Nebula work out some familial issues!)
Asgardians of the Galaxy #3 is on sale Wednesday, November 7th, from Marvel Comics.
