This Wednesday, June 7th, Green Lanterns #24, written by Sam Humphries with Matt Santorelli and Carlo Barberi on art, hits newsstands, the third part of “Lost in Space”! If these preview pages and covers that DC was kind enough to share are any indication, there are going to be some more growing pains in the alliance between the Green Lantern Corps and the Sinestro Corps–and maybe within the ranks of the Green Lanterns themselves.

What always impresses me about Humphries’ work is that he’s one of the best in the business in terms of characterization. Whether he’s writing Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, or any of the other Green Lantern Corps members, he manages to get their voices spot-on without ever devolving to caricature. On the contrary, his dialogue, while pleasing to the ears, also brings some kind of richness and depth to his story’s players that was heretofore not mined. Santorelli and Barberi’s art marries extraordinarily well with what Humphries is doing with his plotting, bringing composition to the page that is just damn pretty. Maybe that’s not the most eloquent way to put it, but every page just screams gorgeous.

From the official issue description:

“LOST IN SPACE’ part three! As their training on Mogo comes to an end, Jessica and Simon prepare to reunite and head back to sector 2814 and Earth, but the new partnership between the Green Lantern and Sinestro Corps may mean reassignment and new partners.
