On Wednesday, January 2nd, Harley Quinn might not be happy with how she rings in the new year, if our EXCLUSIVE preview pages to Old Lady Harley #3 are any indication. She has the prison city of Blüdhaven to contend with and the Bane Twins–which, judging from the phenomenal cover from Amanda Conner, have the same penchant for violence as the original Bane.

Writer Frank Tieri has a history with the character and it shows in the whip-smart, funny dialogue we’ve seen so far. And artist Inaki Miranda–who recently knocked it out of the park with Ragman recently–is balancing the grit and the goofball of Harley’s world perfectly. Colorist Eva De La Cruz knows just when to use her palette to burrow into that grit and when to let the madcap movement shine.

Old Lady Harley #3 debuts Wednesday, January 2nd, from DC Comics.

From the official issue description:

Harley’s barely managed to escape from Gotham City—but going down the river to Blüdhaven might have been an even bigger mistake! The whole city is a prison, held in the grip of the bloodthirsty Bane Twins…and we’re sad to say, they definitely take after their father! And where there are criminals, you know there are Laughing Boys…and where there are Laughing Boys, can The Joker be far away?
