One thing that Bermejo is adept at doing is bringing these fantastical types of stories and dystopian hellscapes to the fore, dazzling the senses with wide vistas and fully-formed worlds, without losing sight of character development and progression in the process. That’s no small feat, but he’s shown he has a talent for such balancing acts, as seen in his previous work, particularly the first Suiciders arc.

Suiciders: Kings of HELL.A. #6, with Lee Bermejo on words and Bermejo and Gerardo Zaffino on art, hits this Wednesday from DC Comics/Vertigo.

From the official issue description:

After the events of the previous issue, there’s no returning to normal for the Kings of HelL.A. With both the Mulholland Corp and the police dropping the hammer on the kids, the ones who make it out alive are going to have to decide which way they want their lives to go: get out of the gang life, or die trying. Meanwhile, Leonard and Ellroy have their final showdown. Featuring a special epilogue illustrated by series creator Lee Bermejo.
