I would be completely alright with another Super Troopers.

The 2001 cop comedy from the Broken Lizard boys wasn’t exactly groundbreaking, but it added just enough quotable jokes for the college set and I think most people my age who’ve seen it have fond memories. So I’m gonna just say the news that they’re developing a sequel is welcome, indeed.

Screencrush is reporting that actors Kevin Heffernan (Farva) and Steve Lemme (Mac) were talking up the possibility of a sequel on a recent podcast:

The script is written, the deal has been agreed on with the studio, we are in the stage though where we need to raise the financing. It’s nothing out of the ordinary. The studio is just the distributor and we are the ones who have to bring the money to the table. So it’s a lot of money that we have to raise.

How much could Super Troopers 2 possibly cost? Whatever it is, here’s hoping Broken Lizard goes the Veronica Mars route and takes it to the fans with a crowdsourcing campaign. Or a brownie sale. Or a beer party.
