In the past ten+ years, musician/writer Trent Reznor has become as much known for his movie soundtracks as he has his work with Nine Inch Nails and his collaborative efforts with other solo artists and bands. His work on such films as David Fincher’s The Social Network and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo created a thick atmosphere of tension and depth to those movies and earned Reznor Golden Globes and a Grammy. So, when Reznor and Atticus Ross, who collaborated with Reznor on The Social Network, announced that they were releasing a cover to John Carpenter’s Halloween theme, you know it’s going to be good. As you can hear, Reznor and Ross did not disappoint.

What a wonderful, haunting gift, as if we weren’t jazzed enough about October 31st looming around the corner. Now excuse us while we play this on a loop for the rest of the day.

You can pick up Reznor and Ross’ Halloween theme cover for less than a buck on Apple Music and Amazon.
