Praise. The. Gods. Y’all. We can never stop singing the gospel of the fantabulousness that is BOOM! Studios Minor Arcana. It’s a “must read when we get home” type of book month in and month out. What comic creator Jeff Lemire has constructed– a tale of melancholic rumination, reckoning with and making peace with the past, and confronting that past head-on to be better equipped to face your future–hits every key that separates a good comic from a great one. Add to that narrative mystical undercurrents and warped realities and we feel seen, like the comic was created for us. The brilliance of the book is that we’re sure that the series’ other fans feel exactly as we do.
That’s why we’re so over-the-moon happy to be able to share an exclusive preview of Minor Arcana #17 that BOOM! Studios was kind enough to share! Continuing the brand-new arc that was kicked off last issue, the team of Lemire with Letizia Cadonici, along with colorist Patricio Delphece and letterer Steve Wands, shows how Theresa and Missy began their relationship as they travel through an unknown liminal space. Relationships are tough, even in the best of circumstances, and this arc looks to be both engaging and heart-wrenching as it gives a window into that relationship.
