Last Thursday, Disney dropped the final trailer for this December’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story for our eyeholes to drink up like so much blue milk. Just as so many of us had calmed down a bit after watching the new footage 20-ish times in a row, the House of Mouse decided, “Screw it, let’s toy with their emotions some more,” releasing these gorgeous character posters today. The new images–featuring Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn), Chirrut Îmwe (Donnie Yen), K-2SO (Alan Tudyk), Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed), with Baze Malbus (Jiang Wen) and Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker)–are beautimous, with a nice added touch of a schematic of the Death Star etched over each character’s face, emphasizing the film’s central theme.

Every trickle of information, every clip, every image, gives me a (new) hope that Rogue One will take the best parts of the original Star Wars trilogy and every heist movie we’ve ever loved and create a hybrid that feels at the same time familiar and novel.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, and Donnie Yen, hits theaters on December 16th.
