Seven months after the cataclysmic ending of Avengers: Infinity War, after Thanos of Titan eliminated half of all life in the universe, we now have a glimpse of the “next.” That’s right: we now have a first trailer of Avengers 4, which, after much speculation, is titled Avengers: Endgame. And, folks, the hairs on our arms are standing on end.

The trailer, which dropped this morning, is filled with sorrow, with Tony Stark adrift in space and the Earthbound Avengers mourning their dead and the decimation of all of existence. However, there is hope, with Hawkeye in new ninja gear (from his time as “Ronin” in the comics), Scott Lang—Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man—knocking on the door of the Avengers compound, and Captain America and Black Widow referencing a plan that’s “going to work.” 2019 can’t get here soon enough.

The Avengers will assemble this April in Avengers: Endgame.
