This October, Dark Horse Comics will release a new hardcover collection of its Beasts of Burden series. In Beasts of Burden: Neighborhood Watch, the pet detectives further develop their occult-combatting abilities and meet a famous monster fighter with a Fist of Doom.

Neighborhood Watch kicks off with a Hellboy crossover that sees the popular paranormal investigator lending our pet detectives a Big Right helping hand against a vengeful witch. Then there’s three short stories that deal with goblin thieves, phantom sheep and a bit of history concerning the Wise Dog Society. The Eisner Award-winning “Hunters and Gatherers” shows our heroes developing their occult-fighting skills and also introduces the cast of the Beasts of Burden: Wise Dogs and Eldritch Men series. The Eisner Award-winning “What the Cat Dragged In” focuses on Dymphna the witch cat’s tragic past.
