We’re just five issues into the Runaways revival and it’s like the gang never left. That’s not to say that Rowell, Anka, and the team have ignored the kids’ past adventures, but they’re creating new yarns that honor who they were and where they’re heading. We want to see Chase and Gert and Karolina and the rest be back together–that anticipation is part of the fun tension Rowell is building–but there’s also that acknowledgment that things aren’t the same and may never be. Can you go home again? Watching what the creative team on the book does to answer that question is a joy to behold, even as we hope that Gert and Molly in these preview pages finds some modicum of peace.

Runaways #5, written by Rainbow Rowell with Kris Anka on art, Matthew Wilson on colors, and VC’s Joe Caramagna on letters, goes on sale Wednesday, January 10th, from Marvel Comics.

From the official issue description:

In classic RUNAWAYS fashion, things aren’t going according to plan. Chase starts a new project that will shock you. Molly has to make an impossible choice. And Nico’s super-power feels more like a prison with every spell she casts.
