Next month, BOOM! Studios will release Lotus Land #1, brought to life by writer and director Darcy Van Poelgeest, artist Caio Filipe, colorist Patricio Delpeche, and letterer Nate Piekos. The comic focuses on a dystopian future that will see a savior for its ills in the Keeper Program, which uses technological leaps to solve the problems of the day. However, cyberpunk meets hardboiled when a detective is stirred from retirement to investigate an assault on the Keeper Program. This seems like the perfect fit for fans of the cyberpunk aesthetic and genre, as well as anyone who loves yarns like Blade Runner.

Until the comic hits, BOOM! has released some gorgeous pages and brilliant covers from the first issue, as well as a press release with all the details. Check them out below!

From the official press release:

BOOM! Studios today revealed a first look at LOTUS LAND #1. Eisner-winning and Harvey-nominated writer and director Darcy Van Poelgeest (Little Bird) is joined by artist Caio Filipe (Stranger Things: Tales From Hawkins), colorist Patricio Delpeche (Angel), and letterer Nate Piekos of Blambot® (The Seasons Have Teeth) for a timely look at the human condition, set in a dystopic, cyberpunk future that’s as grounded as it is metaphysical. Welcome to LOTUS LAND, coming November 2023.

Vancouver, years from now. In a future painted with ultramodern decay, entropy has met its match in the Keeper Program, a breakthrough in cutting edge technologies that’s seemingly capable of miracles. When an attack on the mysterious program threatens the lives of everyone tied to it, retired detective Bennie Strikman is called out to investigate one last case…

LOTUS LAND #1 features a main cover by Alex Eckman-Lawn (Dead Boy Detectives) with variants by Alex Eckman-Lawn, Christian Ward (Invisible Kingdom), and Ian Bertram (Little Bird) with Gus Storms.
