You don’t exactly expect Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” to be the soundtrack to Toy Story 4 trailer, but that’s why Pixar has become known, time and again, for its smart, sometimes-subversive and sly storytelling. The melancholy joyfulness of “Both Sides Now” seems to fit with the new chapter we saw Buzz, Woody, and the gang embarking upon when last we saw them in the third installment of the series.
The teaser doesn’t tell us much about the 2019 film, but just one thing: If we don’t get a spork toy out of this for movie merch, we riot.
