With Deadpool 2 now hitting digital download and coming soon to DVD and Blu-ray, it makes sense that Marvel would bestow us with more of the Cable and Deadpool goodness that the film was brimming with. The two characters have been inextricably entwined since their first appearances during Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza’s installments of the final issues of the 1990s New Mutants, even sharing their own series from time to time. And it’s funny we mention time, as time travel is what Cable & Deadpool Annual #1, out next Wednesday, focuses: traveling to the past and the future and how time can run out in the blink of an eye. You can bet that it’ll be a hoot, as the duo make as good a buddy comedy/action team as any seen in pop culture.

We see some of that bantering good time in these hilarious pages from our exclusive preview of Cable & Deadpool Annual #1, in which it’s clear that the two are grating on one another’s nerves, but always with an undercurrent of love–or at least grudging respect. The phenomenal David Walker pens the comic and is joined by a whole cavalcade of phenomenal artists, including Paco Diaz (who draws the pages below), Danilo Beyruth, Nick Bradshaw, Luke Ross, Marco Rudy, Edgar Salazar, Flaviano, Franceso Manna, and Leonard Kirk; colorists Chris Sotomayor (who colors these preview pages), Jason Keith, and Marco Rudy (pulling double duty); and lettered by the always solid Joe Sabino.

From the official issue description:

THE TIME IS NIGH! History’s favorite duo are back together, and just in time! When Deadpool is hired to protect a woman from time-hopping villains, it’s only a matter of time until he breaks the timestream. Fortunately, his old pal Cable has some experience with that. But dark secrets have put the client, and reality itself, in more danger than either of our heroes could have foreseen! David F. Walker, Paco Diaz, and a host of stellar guest artists take Cable and Deadpool on an adventure of epic proportions!
