This Wednesday, October 18th, All-New Guardians of the Galaxy #12, written by Gerry Duggan with Rod Reis on art, hits newsstands, with the Guardians recovering from Secret Empire, assessing what info they may need moving forward, and, as you can tell by the cover, pick up a new Guardian along the way! Check out these preview pages that Marvel was kind enough to share!
Calling All-New Guardians of the Galaxy a slow-burn wouldn’t be accurate in the least, considering the break-neck plotting speed from Duggan, but it is clear that the writer has been moving pieces on the board in a methodical, deliberate way. That plotting continues to yield payoffs while setting sights for arcs down the road. He has a clear love of the characters and that pops from issue to issue. And every time Reis turns in an issue is a treat for all of us, bringing the same sci-fi/near-noir sensibility to the book that made his work on series such as Hadrian’s Wall sing. All-New Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the shining jewels in Marvel’s catalogue, and you’re doing yourself a disservice if you don’t give it a go.
