Never bet against the Bat. That’s what I’m throwing out there after watching the latest teaser for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which hit our eyeballs during Fox’s broadcast of the fall finale of Gotham tonight. Sure, the Dark Knight is bound by and dangling from chains in the brief footage, but, come on: Pulling a Houdini is in the “Be Your Best Batman” handbook. Sure, Henry Cavill, reprising his Man of Steel role of Krypton’s last surviving son here as Superman, looks like he has a case of the crankies as he unceremoniously tears off the cowl of the Batman, played by Ben Affleck. However, again, as many a hero and villain have learned to their peril, never bet against the Bat. Maybe we’ll get a better idea of what’s going on in this scene when a full trailer hits television during Jimmy Kimmel Live! this Wednesday.
