More wonderful (see what I did there?) news out of SDCC Saturday! During Warner Bros. Hall H panel, fans were treated not only to appearances by the actors who will portray DC Comics’ Holy Super-Trinity that will appear in Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice—Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Gal Gadot—but also to the first look at Gadot dressed as the Amazonian princess warrior, Wonder Woman.

Gadot-as-Diana is clad in armor that bears more muted colors than we normally see her dressed in. Of note are some subtle nods to Wonder Woman’s battle armor seen in Mark Waid and Alex Ross’ alternate future comic book tale Kingdom Come, in which Diana wore a skirt and boots similar to the ones seen on Gadot. While Wonder Woman’s lasso of truth seems to be absent, Gadot is wielding a sword, which she sometimes uses in the comics. Gadot is standing against a fiery, ashy backdrop, similar to the one we saw in a picture of Cavill as Superman earlier this month.

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman

The image seems to be doing right by the Amazonian ambassador to “Man’s World,” as her outfit doesn’t veer too far from the established look of Wonder Woman we’ve seen in the past. Her outfit actually seems to take a cue from the video game Injustice: Gods Among Us, which might be an indication of where Warner Bros.’s aesthetic is leaning with Wonder Woman and characters that will make appearances in future movies.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, also starring Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, and Laurence Fishburne, will be in theaters nationwide May 6, 2016.
