Prepare to revisit the bleak and deadly kingdom of Drangleic with brand new DLC for Dark Souls II!

Actually, make that three more add-ons! Later this summer, you’ll have a new opportunity to die over and over with a DLC trilogy that dives deeper into the story behind sad King Vendrick. The first piece of content is called Crown of the Sunken King which tasks you to reclaim one of Vendrick’s crowns that has been lost to time.

From the release:

Crown of the Sunken King, the first chapter in the trilogy, sends players on a journey to reclaim the crowns that Drangleic’s King Vendrick once owned. Crown of the Sunken King features an entirely different world within the Dark Souls II universe, where stepped pyramids span a vast underground cavern. It is said that one of the ancient crowns lay buried deep within these dark caverns; but surely such a valued item cannot sit unguarded. Players that seek adversity and glory will be rewarded with a crown that holds the strength of lords from times long past.

Sounds pretty cool.

Along with Sunken King, we’ll also get Crown of the Old Iron King and Crown of the Ivory King.

The name Old Iron King should perk up your ears as there’s been tons mentioned about his ill-fated exploits involving a raging volcano. Plus, we’ve already taken him down in his low-rent Balrog cosplay form. Perhaps we’ll get to see a bit more of what happened to his ancient kingdom as well as drudge up some legendary new equipment? As for who or what the Ivory King is, I’ll leave speculation up to the die-hards on the Dark Souls wiki page.

Sunken King will be available July 22 followed by Crown of the Old Iron King and Crown of the Ivory King on August 26 and September 24 respectively. Each individual chapter of The Lost Crowns trilogy will be available for $9.99 on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. There will also be a $24.99 season pass that can save you a few bucks.
