This weekend proved that, whether you loved Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice or hated it, folks will come out in droves to theaters to witness a rich boy and an alien beat the stuffing out of one another. While some detractors felt that the film was a hair too dark, Zack Snyder’s ode to superhero roughhousing has certainly laid some of the groundwork for what Warner Bros. and DC Comics hope to be a successful cinematic universe to rival that of Marvel.

The next movie that will build on that network of interconnected films is director David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, out this August, featuring villains conscripted into being do-gooders in exchange for commuted sentences. While the new international trailer Warner Bros. just released doesn’t reveal too much more footage than what we’ve already seen–a few more glimpses of Killer Croc notwithstanding–the timing was smart on the studio’s part. It’s a reminder to fans that, if you loved Dawn of Justice, there’s more to come. And, frankly, I’m in the camp that’s more jazzed about Suicide Squad than I was for Dawn of Justice, so I’ll take any smattering of new madcap action that I can get.

Suicide Squad, directed by David Ayer and starring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, and Joel Kinnaman, hits theaters August 5th.
