Secret Wars #5 hits stands next week, marking the halfway point of Marvel‘s worlds-changing, universe-shaking event that will mean that Everything Will Change. Whether you believe that or not, the company has already announced a slew of new titles premiering after the maxiseries concludes that have a wealth of potential, the family of Spider-titles in particular. However, one of the new series I’m particularly looking forward to is writer Brian Michael Bendis‘ move to an Iron Man solo title, on sale October 7th. Of course, we’ve seen Bendis write for Tony Stark for before in the various Avengers titles he’s helmed, as well as a whole host of crossover events, but he’s not yet tackled a solo series featuring the genius, somewhat-broken golden sentinel. It’ll be interesting to see what Bendis does when laser-focused on Tony’s world. As for Marquez, his style, which is very reminiscent (to me, at least) of Jim Cheung’s work seems to be a perfect fit for the combination of sleek lines and deeply human elements needed to pull this book off. The first issue of Invincible Iron Man hits in October and I’m curious to see what the creative team pulls off. Check out the official press release below!
